- Sonos Play One Concept
This project was a styling exercise to showcase our 3D product rendering software capabilities.
Sonos is a premium brand, but their styling is usually quite safe and simplistic. We wanted to create a new visual identity for the Sonos range of products, starting with the entry product; the Play:1.
The concept gives a more sculptural form but also incorporates touchscreen functionality, similar to the Amazon Echo Show.

Flying colours
Sonos products are typically available in muted colours – black, white and grey primarily. The choice of colours in this concept design add excitement to the product’s aesthetic. The product becomes a focal point rather than blending into the background, and is more in keeping with competitor products, such as Bang and Olufsen.
Duck egg blue is a fashionable colour for kitchen products (seen in Smeg and Kitchenaid appliances) and the kitchen is a popular location for the Sonos Play:1.
Similarly, the bright red makes a statement and is a popular choice in modern style kitchens, as well as other rooms in the home.
All designs feature a single colour keeping the style contemporary and machined from one piece of material.
